"Stay fit and healthy" they always say that, but why? What's exactly physical education? What are the differences between education and physical education? Education means; when you sit and receive different information and learn them. But, when it comes to physical education, it actually means moving around, and moving your whole body by doing different moves and exercises.
However, in every school around the world, there is the "Physical Education" known as "PE" subject. Some students enjoy it, but some don't. Indeed, physical education helps with your blood circulation, and keeps you fit and healthy. Many students love this subject because they actually refresh their mind and get rid of boredom. So obviously, if you exercise, you'll stay fit and healthy without getting any health issues when you grow up.
But on the other hand, some students hate this subject because of the teachers. So basically, the teachers have a role by deciding whether a student love/hate the subject. Unfortunately, some sports aren't available at schools, such as swimming. There is chance of physical hurt, some people actually fall and break their leg.
Finally, physical education has both pros and cons. In my opinion, you should exercise and stay fit and healthy, but on the other hand, teachers shouldn't force students to play, and let them play whatever they want.

My Dream, by Alaa Al-Jamalani Grade 11
It was 11 P.M. when the moon shone like a diamond, when the wind was so cold, and the birds flew away. It was so dark and late, so I decided to sleep. "WOW WOW! Where am I? OH hold on! It's America!"
"Welcome to Hollywood" the woman announced.
I took the microphone, and started singing on stage, I acted even. "It's time to publish stories and quotes" "Done! Got published" the woman said. I thanked her with all my heart.
I walked to the bookshop and found my stories all around the bookshop! "WOW!" I yelled.
Everything felt so real, but once I opened my eyes, guess what?
It was only just a dream.

Oman, by Alaa Al-Jamalani Grade 11
The shining sun in the sky,
The luminous stars up so high,
The crashing wonderful waves,
Oh, it's the beautiful nation Oman,
Oman,
We live under your sky,
We drink from your ocean,
And here we are,
Holding the angelic flag,
Red, green and white,
The colour of the jewelleries.
Oman,
44 years have passed,
We counted days and nights,
And proved how Oman,
SHifted to modernity,
May Allah bless you Sultan,
You're the pride,
and you'll always be the pride,
May God protect you Oman,
May God protect you Oman.

Invitation to a Birthday Party, by Hussain Ali AL-lawati Grade 11
To: Friend@Emailprovider.com
Subject: Invitation to my birthday party.
Hello friend,
In an attempt to appear sophisticated, I decided to Email you rather than text you. How are you doing? How is school?
16 years ago on the 22nd of October, celestial bodies of the sky exhibited abnormal behaviour. That was because I was born, as you should be able to deduce. To revive that day in your lives, I decided to throw a party on the day following my birthday, Thursday, the 23rd of October. To save you the trouble of trying to remember the way, I attached a map to my house, where the party will be. You ought to come at 7 P.M. sharp, which means that there will probably be no one till 7:30.
I am looking forward to seeing you in a few days, remember, my house, Thursday, 7 P.M.

E-mail to your Friend Regarding Exam Preparations, by Hussain Ali Al-lawati Grade 11
To; Friend1@gmail.com, Friend2@gmail.com
Subject: Exam preparations.
Dear friends,
Greetings to all.
Exams have diminished every single ray of light in my life last year; I regret that. Please find some tips enclosed in this email. Hopefully, you can cultivate those tips to their full extent.
"Studying is no fun", please erase that thought in this very instant. ALways be optimistic, especially when it comes to your studies. To induce such motivation, and to maintain it, search within for your goals and purposes. ALways keep those in mind, but don't forget, internal thoughts can be distracted by current distractions. Always keep devices away from you when you study. Finally, to be able to actually comprehend whatever it is that you are studying, eat, sleep and exercise!
Best of luck,
your friend, Hussain.

Importance of English Language Today, by Hussain Ali Al-lawati Grade 11
What is the most important job requirement for most occupations? For many jobs, English is the answer. It is, however, not only important in the workplace. The language is useful in many applications. English is the second most spoken language in the world. It also includes words from many languages and places. This just makes it easier for people to embrace the language.
Having such a widespread language makes it much easier to communicate with others, especially from other parts of the worlds. The fact that English contains many borrowed words supplements its spreading, and importance in result. Its simplicity makes it one of the strongest candidates for the position of a universal language.
English is starting to dominate many fields, and while this is happening, many mother languages are being forgotten. The transfer of the language also takes lots of the culture along with it, on the account of the traditions of the country. The language is also accused to be poor, mostly because of its simplicity.
The cream on the cake is that despite the shot comings, English is still very important, and that importance is strongly deserved.

Importance of English Language in Today's World, by Fatma Taqi Grade 11
Can anyone live without speaking English? Of course, it is possible to live, but it is very tough. English has become a universal language. It is the second most spoken in the world, that is very important for everyone, in order to be able to communicate with people from all over the world.
In fact. English is very useful. It enables people to work with technology gadgets given that they mostly use English. It is also important in many jobs, so learning English secures one's future. Moreover, it enables people to communicate with each other and with no problems in understanding each other. It is the language of modernity.
English language, on the other hand has various disadvantages. One of these is that it causes many mother tongues to either disappear or become inorigional because of the English words that come in between. In addition, it removes the identities and cultures of other countries and languages, making some people with no recognised history.
English can be both a blessing and a curse.

Video Games, by Hadi Haidar Al-lawati Grade 11
Video game is an electronic game that involves human interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device. The first video game invented was called "Tennis for 2". Then the video game developed a lot. it had consoles. The first console invented was called "Atari". The video games developed a lot. Nowadays, it is really improved that it feels like its something real. It has lots of techniques. Its in HD form and even 3D! The video games have a lot of facilities that can be used. Although that video game is an amazing invention, it has pros and cons.
First of all, some video games contain some challenging missions. It causes the person to use his brain to solve the puzzle or what type of challenge the game contains. Other than that, it improves the eye-hand coordination the video games need using your hand and eye. Moreover, it improves your brain working. A study says a video-gamer can do 6 things at once, while a normal person can do only 4.
One the other hand, video games have cons. First of all, it causes isolation because lots of games are single player. Secondly, video games waste a lot of time, a person can do more useful stuff during that time. Lastly,, video games can cause addiction which is really bad for a person.
At the end, it is believed that video games are a blessing and a curse. It is a blessing because it contains some challenging missions, it improves eye-hand coordination and it improves brain working. It is a curse because it causes isolation, wastes time and causes addiction. So do you think that video games are a bless or a curse?

Unforgettable Event, by Alaa Kadhim Al-lawati Grade 11
It was our summer vacation. My family decided to travel away to spend a holiday in Spain, but we didn't travel by an aeroplane, we went out of the norm and decided to travel by sea, but little did we know about what was going to happen.
My father and mother were a bit hesitant to travel by sea but they eventually got persuaded by my sister and I. The promised day came and we went aboard the ship. It was a regular sunny day, however, things took and unexpected turn.
I went outside to feel the breeze of air, but I was surprised by what I have seen. The sky suddenly turned black and thunder could be heard from a mile's distance. It was a violent thunderstorm. The waves were so violent that they flipped the ship over.
I was lost and injured as I was on the surface of the of the ship. Luckily the captain of the ship called for help and it soon arrived.
This was an experience to remember because it was the first time to experience a shipwreck and live to tell the tale.

Violence in Cartoons, by Alaa Kadhim Al-lawati Grade 11
A picture describes a thousand words, so, a person might read a book but not understand it, but he might catch a glimpse of its cover's picture and understand it fully. With that said, I would like to point to one thing that has appeared in the 1930's and is ongoing and that is, cartoons.
Cartoon is a form of picture animation done with the purpose of entertaining an audience. The audience may be kids, teenagers or even adults. The pictures or characters drawn are most of the time imaginary, few cartoons have a non-fictional plot whereas the rest are all fictional. Cartoons can have many genres ranging from comedy to action to sci-fi to many other genres.
Nowadays, there are many channels that broadcast cartoons as their main programmes and that is because they have realised how beneficial they are. Cartoons are of the greatest indirect methods of teaching which are extremely effective with children. A child can be taught a foreign language other than his mother language via cartoons if that cartoon is is that cartoon is in a foreign language, but the teaching doesn't stop there, not only a child can learn a new language, but can learn precious values that will stay engraved upon his memories for eternity, but they can also be harmful.
The fact that there are several audiences for cartoons is a negative side. A kid might not be aware that what he's watching maybe targeted towards adults and thus, might be inappropriate for his age, not to mention that they might include profanity and that could teach the kid indecency, yet, he won't stop watching because cartoons are addictive.
I personally think that cartoons are double edged weapons that should be handled carefully as they benefit or harm. It all depends on how they are used and what kind of cartoons they are.

Herbs, by Fatma Taqi Grade 11
Do people these days still use herbs for their medical needs?
Not long ago, people used all kinds of medical herbs to treat themselves and stay healthy, given that they are organic and natural, and easily picked up from plants, trees and flowers. These days, however, many people tend to prefer technology over nature, but herbs, like everything, has its ups and downs.
Herbs are natural, organic medicine, therefore have less side effects on our body than chemical medicine. Local herbs are very easy to find and prepare, and their prices are very low compared to chemical medicines we use nowadays.
Other herbs, however, can be very hard to find and get, given that they may be unknown locally, and expensive to buy from other countries. They are generally less effective and take longer time to work than normal medicine. Awareness can play a part in this, because many people don't know which herbs to use and how to efficiently use them, so many herbs and mixes can end up unsuitable for many conditions, and lead to other consequences.
Even though herbs aren't very popular these days, some people still use them. They try herbs and then go to doctors and hospitals if they didn't work properly.

An Unforgettable Event in Your Life, by Fatma Taqi Grade 11
Today, the first of september 2009, I am sitting in Hogwarts Express, on my way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy.
Two days before that, I was having a normal day with my parents in our house, when an owl suddenly came through the chimney and delivered a letter. It was addressed to me, saying that I am a witch, and I am registered in the mentioned school. It was a big, weird but amazing surprise.
Later on, we visited a place that we have never heard of before, called Diagon Alley. It was an amazing place full of witches and wizards wearing their weird cloaks and hats. I could see strange things everywhere; wands, cauldrons, owls, rats, toads, dragon leather, and all sorts of utterly strange things you could ever imagine. We bought all the things that were written on the list; a wand, school robes, a cauldron, ingredients for potions and other things, using wizards' money.
We got back home, still not believing where we've been just a while back, and what we have bought. I started packing my things, until the first of September finally came. We drove to King's Cross station, and walked through the wall between platform nine and ten, to suddenly find ourselves in platform nine and three quarters. We were really surprised. I hugged my parents, then we said our goodbyes, then I got into the train.
It was a very strange experience, and now, here I am, sitting in Hogwarts Express, thinking about what surprises are yet to come.
